Atreyu is an American metalcore band from Orange County, California formed in 1998. The band consists of vocalist Alex Varkatzas, lead guitarist Dan Jacobs, rhythm guitarist Travis Miguel, bassist Marc McKnight and drummer/vocalist Brandon Saller. They have released five studio albums: Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses (2002), The Curse (2004), A Death-Grip On Yesterday (2006), Lead Sails Paper Anchor (2007), and Congregation of the Damned (2009). <br><br> Although the employment of twin vocal tricks of the now predictable melodic/scream cookie cutters have been done to death Atreyu’s melodic ability and teeth gnashing angst still manage to bring something new to the table every time. Along with Hatebreed Atreyu like to butter their bread with pure metalcore, with the perfect combination of crossover heaviosity and anthemic hooky chorus’ being their true call to arms.
