Growing up in an artistic familly in Iran, Sina bathaie learned santur at an early age of 7 from his father master"Javad Bathaie" . He has been the head of music center of Tehran polytechnic for two years and the founder of ensemble "Sabokbal" which got the first award in national student music festival. He also was the VP president of the first national student music festival held in Tehran, Iran. Sina has learned Radif with oud with " Mohamamd Firoozi". He also got the instruction of Tonbak from "Kambiz Ganjeie " in Tonbak. Moving to Canada in fall 2009, He found himself in new environment far from his homeland. He started his music exploration with the music and instruments of different culture such as double-bass, flute, hang, Tabla, sitar and ... "Confluence" , a duet of santur and flute was an example of this exploration. He has been playing in several festivals and concerts in Canada such as: Open Mind Festival, Tirgan Festival, Raninbow gathering and ... He has recorded his first album "Sound of Silence" which was released in June 2012 at Montreal.
