The Dead Thing is a Dallas, Texas–based Grateful Dead tribute band carrying forward the loose, joyful spirit of the Dead’s music for North Texas heads old and new. Rooted in the long-running Dallas Dead scene, The Dead Thing blends road-tested musicianship, deep-cut setlist energy, and room-to-room improvisation into shows that feel less like reenactments and more like a living conversation with the music. From familiar singalongs to winding jams, the band keeps the trip moving every way the wind blows.
