The SUTCLIFFES

Dallas, Texas

About

Founded in 1990. The Sutcliffes earned their reputation early on as a charismatic and energetic live act. Anything goes, from appearing in dresses and billing themselves as “The Chixie Dicks” to wearing oversized sideburns and serving fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches to the audience in honor of Elvis’ birthday. This cynical humor is far from lost on their fans, who have been known to strap on the velcro sideburns and partake in the King’s favorite midnight snack. The Sutcliffes have released two CDs, Wall of Skiffle and Smirk, and appeared on a seasonal CD "A Deep Noellum Christmas." They have also appeared on several composition discs for New York pop artist Ron English (as well as appearing in Ron's biographic film, The art and Crimes of Ron English). They have collaborated with renowned artist Daniel Johnston. The video for the single “Gin Blossom Girl” has been screened at the SXSW and New Orleans Film Festivals.
