The American Red Cross will host a community blood drive where guests can visit an informational table in front of the Gallery Wall with a soccer-themed display, appearances by Buddy the Blood Drop, and a chance to learn about the organization’s many community services, including blood drives, volunteer opportunities, CPR and AED training, Basic Life Support certification and lifeguard programs. The American Red Cross helps collect and distribute approximately 40 percent of the nation’s blood supply. Blood donations support accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients and individuals undergoing treatment for leukemia, cancer and sickle cell disease, among other things.
