His unparalleled songwriting and unmistakable voice made him an American counterculture icon in the 1960s. Songs like “The Times They Are a-Changin’,” ”Blowin’In the Wind” and “Like a Rolling Stone” are still widely recognized as some of the most enduring folk songs of all time. In 1997, Dylan was recognized with the Kennedy Center Honors, and in 2012, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
