Botanicals in Blue

Explore an early photographic process and create your own wall-worthy works of art! Developed in the 19th century, this camera-less method was soon adopted by botanists to document plant specimens. Cyanotypes combine art and science to produce gorgeous, deep-blue and white prints. Our expert instructor will introduce the technique and answer questions as you experiment with a variety of interesting plant silhouettes and learn this accessible image-making technique. You will take home your creations and the knowledge and skills to continue making more! Registration includes Garden admission for the day.
