Trained in the traditional Guru-Shishya system, he has earned major honors, including a Lifetime Achievement Award and IIT Madras’ Distinguished Alumnus Award. An Oscar-winning composer for Smile Pinki, he has also scored award-winning films and earned international critical praise. A Berklee graduate, he has collaborated with artists like Esperanza Spalding, A.R. Rahman, and Victor Wooten.
