Since the early 1980s, she has performed and recorded with a wide range of leading figures including Peter Kowald, Anthony Braxton, Irène Schweizer, Lauren Newton, and Fred Frith, among many others. Born in Aix-en-Provence, she initially studied recorder and piano before focusing on the double bass, later working with composers such as Cage, Giacinto Scelsi, and Morton Feldman. Equally active in free improvisation and new music, she has collaborated with Derek Bailey, William Parker, and the European Women’s Improvising Group, among many others. DAVID DOVE Trombonist, composer, and improviser David Dove is the founding director of Nameless Sound, the Houston-based organization dedicated to experimental music and community-focused arts education. Through its concert series and workshop programs, Nameless Sound has become a vital platform for collaborative improvisation, engaging international artists and local communities alike. As a performer, Dove’s work centers on free improvisation while drawing from jazz, contemporary composition, and experimental practices, with collaborations across music, film, dance, and visual art. Performing

David Dover decided he wanted to be a musician at the age of 8 when he saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show. He and his sister, Janis, were sitting on the living room floor (no carpet) on West 1st St. in Tulsa. The Beatles came on the Ed Sullivan Show and David's life changed from that moment on. David's father bought him a guitar and would pay David one dollar every Merle Haggard and George Jones song that he would learn and play for him. People are still amazed that David can play these old country songs and now you know why. More to come later..
