About
“All grit and no quit.” These are the deeply rooted words that Josh Ward lives by to an absolute fault. An anchored mindset that has led this country music artist from a drifter’s adolescence to the jeopardous game of the rodeo circuit to the punishing toil of the Texas oil fields, and into the fickle arms of the music business. Josh Ward’s debut album, Promises, released in 2011, marked the beginning of his journey in the country music scene. Over the years, he has released several albums, including Holding Me Together and More Than I Deserve, each showcasing his distinctive sound and lyrical storytelling. Josh was added to the Live at Billy Bob’s Texas family with the release of his live album from the world’s largest honky-tonk in 2019. The Josh Ward Band has a unique style of traditional honky-tonk mixed with Texas Attitude and Good Ol' Southern Rock. Lead Singer, Josh Ward, has an untouchable voice that grabs your attention. Just a few songs into the set you will see just why the Josh Ward Band is turning heads everywhere they perform.

Born May 15, 1980 in Houston, TX, Josh Ward was raised on country music, his first musical influence being old gospel hymns he would sing at church. As a teenager Willie, Waylon, Merle, George Jones, and George Strait were his inspiration. While riding the high school Rodeo Circuit, Josh polished his vocal and guitar skills while singing on the tailgate of pickup trucks between events.

Josh has come a long way since playing on tailgates at the local rodeos. He joined his first band in early 2003 playing local honky-tonks and bars. Most recently he had the privilege of playing with the Southern Breeze Band out of Liberty, Texas. Southern Breeze being one of the most popular Texas Swing Bands in the state gave Josh the stage time and experience needed to stretch out on his own and pursue his life long dream of performing and playing music full time.

If you get a chance to see a show, it won't be hard to see why the Josh Ward Band is gaining so much attention. Whether it's traditional country, old time rock n roll, or Texas Music Fans looking for a good time, The Josh Ward Band leaves no one disappointed, and everybody asking for more!
