We’ll be sharing other sources for helping our community as well so come on out to Rubber Gloves on Thursday, September 3rd and LEND AN EAR to our music and our message. The DFW Metro Walk is Oct 24, 2026 in downtown Dallas. Performing
Born Mathew Charles Grigsby in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Grigsby grew up in a small East Texas town by the name of Hallsville. After graduating high school there, he attended Kilgore Junior College for two years as a Theatre major. It was there he was introduced to songwriting and started learning guitar at 19. Hungry for a music scene that was non-existent in his current location, Grigsby then relocated to Denton, TX with a couple school chums where he began to frequent open mics and gradually began writing his own songs. Since then Grigsby has released a self-titled EP and a full length album in early 2012. His songs cover a variety of different subjects including, but not limited to, dead birds, alcoholism, ghosts, and religion. He hosts an open mic at Banter Bistro in Denton every Thursday. He often claims to have a PHD in Walkin' but researchers have been unable to find any truth in that statement. For booking you may contact Grigsby at denton0808@yahoo.com
