About
Madam Radar Embracing the spirit of Americana with Rock n’ Roll sex appeal - Madam Radar is an Americana rock band that punches hard with its explosive harmonies, soaring guitar solos, and eclectic original tunes. MOTEL is their latest album, produced by Steve Berlin of Los Lobos, delivering passionate guitar work, big harmonies, and songwriting that cuts straight to the bone. Built on stories from nearly a decade of traveling together, the family band’s signature blend of Americana, rock, and southern soul captures the electricity of their live shows with the polish of a seasoned studio effort Paul McDonald Born in Alabama and baptized in the dive bars of the southeast, Paul McDonald first made noise with the Grand Magnolias, a roots-rock outfit, before catching fire in the public eye during American Idol's 2011 run. When the bright lights blurred and the cameras turned, the man behind the voice slipped into the shadows where he did what real artists do: He lived, he lost, and he wrote. Retreating to Nashville, that holy city of reinvention, Paul stitched himself back together with worn boots, hard songs, and a new band called The Mourning Doves. Now, in 2025, the giant has stirred the release of "So Long to the Dark Side" - a gospel tinged reckoning wrapped in cosmic Americana and lit with songs that sound like they were scribbled on the edge of a breakdown and sung back from the brink. Raised on Petty, Parsons, and pain, Paul McDonald is not chasing trends, he's conjuring something older and truer. His live performances are equal parts revival and rock séance.

MADAM RADAR is an Americana rock band that punches hard with their explosive harmonies and eclectic original tunes. Having the unique advantage of three lead singers and songwriters, there’s something to be enjoyed for a variety of listeners. Once described as Fleetwood Mac meets the Eagles, there’s palpable energy in this family band that can be felt from the stage. Jace and Kelly Green are husband and wife and hold down the front end while their brother Kody Lee and Violet Lea make up the rhythm section. Soaring guitar solos, sweeping vocals, rich harmonies, and the diversity in the songwriting as the lead singers swap tunes truly makes a MADAM RADAR show a unique experience.
MADAM RADAR released their first full length album under the name The Texas KGB in 2016 titled Songs in the Key of Pain. In 2017, they released their second full length album titled Welcome Home. Both were recorded at 512 Studios with Omar Vallejo.
MADAM RADAR announced their name change after being awarded their second grant from Black Fret in December 2019 at The Black Ball at ACL Live at the Moody Theater. It was after this that they released their third full length album Madam Radar in 2020, recorded at The Finishing School and produced by Gordy Quist of The Band of Heathens.
During the global pandemic shortly following the release of Madam Radar, the band had to find a unique way to navigate the difficult situation and created a livestream that blossomed into a variety show with a global reach and spanned 63 episodes from March of 2020 to June 2021. The MADAM RADAR Saturday Night Extravaganza featured a variety of covers as well as new originals, games and auctions for the fans to interact with the band, and even a Halloween and Christmas special with a bonus jingle created specifically for their favorite shot- Iron Hot, made out at Iron Wolf Ranch and Distillery in Spicewood, Texas.
With the world slowly opening back up, MADAM RADAR plans to go back into The Finishing School with Gordy Quist to release their fourth full length album in 2022.
