About

$30 Table Seating, $20 Bar Seating Paul Lees is a versatile pianist, keyboardist, composer, arranger, and educator in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He holds a Master of Music in Jazz Studies degree from the University of North Texas where he was a member of the seven-time Grammy-nominated One O’Clock Lab Band. While a graduate student at UNT, Paul was a teaching fellow whose responsibilities included directing the Zebras ensemble and teaching the Jazz Keyboard Fundamentals course. He has recorded eight studio albums with various bands and artists, the most recent of which is “This Light Has No Darkness, Vol. 1” with legendary jazz bassist David Friesen, which received a 4-star review in DownBeat and was included in the editor’s picks. Paul has performed with Doc Severinsen, Christian McBride, Jimmy Heath, Marshall Gilkes, and Sean Jones and has recorded with David Friesen, Tom Harrell, Jon Faddis, James Morrison, Bob McChesney, Allen Vizzutti, and Louis Dowdeswell. He has also had the opportunity to perform concerts in Vienna, Prague, Rio, and Ukraine. In February 2023, Paul had the privilege of playing on a concert at Carnegie Hall directed by Mack Wilberg. Currently, Paul is the pianist for Denton Bible Church and is the accompanist for the Voices of Flower Mound and the Robson Ranch Community Choir. He is also sought after as an educator and taught jazz masterclasses in Lagos, Nigeria at the Society for the Performing Arts in Nigeria (SPAN) in November 2019.
