DJing isn’t associated with cooking but when you need a tastemaker to satisfy people’s musical palettes, Leo J is your choice. He relies on his 19yrs of experience to fit the vibe of any room. Leo J currently has residencies at multiple locations in Deep Ellum, the Common Table in Uptown and Frisco, and Expo Bar in Fair Park. In the summer of 2018 he was the resident DJ for Scratch Sessions opening up for DJs such as DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Z-Trip, DJ Mix Master Mike, and DJ Nu-mark. As a curator, Leo J founded the award winning DJ night Fresh 45s which features DJ Spinderella of Salt N Pepa. Leo J was recently nominated for the 2018 Dallas Observer Music Award for “Best DJ.” In addition to his musical talents, Leo J is a proud supporter of the Dallas community with events like “Kids Dig” and teaching the history of hip hip culture at community colleges and community centers. He is a also a co-producer of “We From Dallas”. A documentary that premiered at the 2014 Dallas International Film Festival. He has worked with brands such as Red Bull, Mountain Dew, Remezcla, Goose Island Brewery, City of Dallas Cultural Affairs Office, The University of North Texas, Dallas County Community Colleges, and many others.
