Now a an Austin resident, Red Young was born in Fort Worth, Texas. Growing up with a classical background and listening to everyone from Van Cliburn (whom he met at age 11), Ray Charles, B.B. King, Lightnin' Hopkins, Ft. Worth natives Delbert McClinton, Ray Sharpe, King Curtis, Freddy King and many other Texas Blues and Jazz Players. He's toured with Eric Burdon, Linda Ronstadt, Joan Armatrading, Sonny & Cher, Lloyd Price and others in countless performances around the world. Performing
Red Young has a long history in music over his 50+ years on the stage, recording and tours and has performed on Hammond organ since the late 1960’s. His Trio is Red on Hammond organ and vocals; Brannen Temple/drums and Mike Malone/saxes. With Jazz, Blues, Original compositions, vocals and groove tunes and good time music that goes in many directions sometimes in the same songs. Very eclectic influences with musicians that read and anticipate where each is going and sometimes to group improvisations. Not to be missed…
