A zine is an independently published work that explores a particular subject, idea, or creative expression. While the origins of the term and format are widely debated, one thing is certain: zines have long played an important role in amplifying marginalized voices and fostering independent creativity and community.Join Kaitlin Siebert, SMU Librarian and co-founder of Apprentice Creative Space, for an evening exploring the history of zines and learning how to create your own. The workshop will begin at 7:00 p.m. and conclude at 9:00 p.m.Arrive at the start of the event to catch the introductory lecture on zine history, or join later to jump directly into the hands-on demonstration and zine-making session.
