<p>Erykah Badu needs little introduction. Her seminal works like Baduizm and the New AmErykah series have successively upped the ante in terms of what can be done within the soul spectrum, fusing cosmic b-girl bravado with the forward-thinking sounds of producers like the Soulquarians, Madlib, and Flying Lotus to create a sonically varied body of work, selling millions of albums in the process. Erykah Badu also heads up her own record label, Control FreaQ, and has even been caught on the ones and twos recently, as the mysterious DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown.</p>

Presented anonymously, contemporary R&amp;B artist H.E.R. debuted on major-label RCA in 2016. H.E.R., Vol. 1, released for streaming and as a download that September, was a seven-track EP of downcast post-breakup material, mostly ballads, that sounded both vulnerable and assured. Promotion was limited, but labelmates Alicia Keys and Bryson Tiller helped spread the word through social media. Among the selections was a cover of Drake's "Jungle," which helped send the set to number 28 on Billboard's Top R&amp;B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. A similarly styled follow-up, H.E.R., Vol. 2, arrived in June 2017.

Destin Conrad was born in Tampa, Florida, and was raised by a proud single mother who immigrated from Jamaica. “My mother says I could sing before I could talk,” the artist shares. After watching her son’s singing stand out at church, she moved the pair to Los Angeles. DESTIN joined the Vine app during junior high; his talent attracted over a million followers. His first project, COLORWAY, puts the kaleidoscope of DESTIN CONRAD on full display. “I can be whatever I want to be,” he beams about music and life. The title also has personal meaning. “I definitely see color when I’m making songs or listening to other people’s music,” he admits. The standout title track looks at how two people can create amazing colors together.
