SMALL TOWN TEXAS ROOTS MEETS ROCK & ROLL... As a multi-published songwriter, JCD’s songs have been recorded by major-label artists, such as Dolly Parton, Hal Ketchum, Timothy B. Schmit of the Eagles, Billy Ray Cyrus, Sherrie Austin, Rodney Atkins and Tammy Cochran. “Little Bird,” recorded by Sherrie Austin, peaked at number 4 on Billboard’s Top Country Singles Sales Chart. As an artist, he’s recorded for Warner Brothers, Sony, MCA and Palo Duro Records, and has supplied background vocals for Arista and Curb Records. His music has been featured on/in ABC, CBS, FOX, CMT, the Style Network, Pentagon Network, CW Network, Oxygen Channel, USA Today, Billboard Magazine, the Washington Post and Huffington Post. JCD has collaborated with industry veterans, such as Vince Gill, Radney Foster, Rodney Crowell, Steve Lukather of Toto, Stan Lynch of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, as well as mega-hit producers, Dann Huff (Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban) and David Z (Prince, Jonny Lang). In 2004, his song, “Lone Star Attitude®,” landed and stayed on the Texas Music Chart for over 6 months. The popular song has since transitioned into a trademarked brand (Lone Star Attitude® store at DFW International Airport (C-33), LSA Burger Co. (Denton, TX), and the Lone Star Attitude® band). In 2006, USA Today gave his song, “The Bottom Line,” 2 thumbs up, and in 2009, he released the 2-disk CD, “Demos from the Vault (1999-2009).” In 2010, he founded www.JustCoolMusic.com, a Sonic Branding house that produces theme songs and custom music to enhance the messaging for organizations, such as the American Cancer Society, National PTA, IBEW and the Texas Department of Tourism. Just Cool Music’s latest project consisted of producing “Power of a Girl” for the Girl Scout’s 100 year anniversary. The track features members from the Pop-Country group, Lakoda Rayne, as seen on The X Factor and Hayley Orrantia from the hit TV show, The Goldbergs. As a studio session singer, JCD’s voice has been featured on over 500 radio and TV commercials for brands, such as TXU Energy, Ford and American Country Countdown (hosted by Kix Brooks). In 2012, he was a featured artist on season 1 of Troubadour TX, a national TV show about TX singer-songwriters chasing their dreams across the Lone Star State – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hF8mHGGsL1g. JCD has shared the concert stage with Jack Ingram, Radney Foster, Rodney Crowell, Hal Ketchum, Joe Ely, Poco, Michael McDonald, Train, Daughtry, The Roots, Uncle Kracker, Kansas, REO Speedwagon and many others. He’s also performed twice for the President of the United States. Currently, he’s performing live around North TX, doing studio session work, and writing for a new album. As JCD says, “For me, music is not a hobby, it’s my life. I believe music is the universal language that connects us beyond country and culture. For a small-town Texas boy with a vinyl dream, I’m now learning how to survive in a digital world. Thank God, I’ve got an analog girl by my side!” You can find JCD’s music at iTunes and Amazon MP3. ——- FAVORITE SHOWS: USS Intrepid (NYC), the Bellagio (Las Vegas), Gruene Hall (oldest dance hall in TX), Cowboys Stadium (Arlington, TX), Wales Manor & Winery (McKinney, TX) INFLUENCES: Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Eagles, Bryan Adams FAVORITE SONGS: “Take It to the Limit” – Eagles, “Danny’s Song” – Kenny Loggins, “For a Dancer” – Jackson Browne, “Takin’ It to the Streets” – Doobie Brothers, “Land of Hope and Dreams” – Bruce Springsteen, “Don’t Dream It’s Over” – Crowded House CURRENTLY LISTENING TO: Amos Lee, Ryan Adams, and Dawes
