Songs Without Words

Jacob’s Songs Without Words is an interdisciplinary project that brings together photography and music through a photobook, an EP of solo classical guitar works, and a series of exhibitions and performances. Working primarily with black-and-white film and drawing from his background as a classical guitarist, Jacob explores the ways visual and musical composition can inform one another, creating images that evoke rhythm, harmony, and lyricism beyond the boundaries of a single medium. In this special presentation, Jacob will discuss the ideas and process behind Songs Without Words, from its unusual visual structure inspired by musical form to its exploration of performance, memory, and artistic practice. The evening will also feature a selection of live solo guitar performances drawn from the project’s accompanying EP, followed by a meet-and-greet and signing with the artist.
