The Bay Area native got her start as a dancer — both ballet and modern — and attended Oakland School for the Arts. After an unfortunate knee injury leaving her unable to dance she transferred into vocal training and the rest is history. She began her journey into the music business when she joined Poplyfe in the 8th grade and hasn’t looked back since — even appearing on America’s Got Talent with the band. Influenced by Lauryn Hill, Michael Jackson, India Arie, Stever Wonder and Musiq Soul Child — she has an old soul while adding her own youthful twist to classic sounds. The best way she can describe her music is “feel good music” with R&B/Soul undertones. At only 19 years old, she has shared stages with Tony! Toni! Toné!, Stevie Wonder, Jamie Foxx, Sheila E, Lenny Williams at many historic venues including Caesars Palace, The Fox Theater, The Paramount and Yoshi’s.
Born September 16, 1988, in Cleveland, Ohio, Durand Bernarr was destined to pursue a career in the music industry. Music is in his DNA! His mother is a music teacher, vocal coach and music director at a local playhouse. His father is a singer as well, and has traveled the world as a sound engineer working with artists such as Barry Manilow, Jill Scott, Nelly and the St. Lunatics, Cash Money Millionaires, Earth, Wind & Fire, 50 Cent, and the late Whitney Houston, just to name a few. Since he was a young child, Durand Bernarr has been involved in theatre, and has performed in productions at Karamu House Theater such as “Holes”, “Black Nativity” and his all-time favorite, “God’s Trombones.” Being involved in these productions further fueled his desire to pursue a career in music and also seasoned him as a performer. Durand writes and arranges all of his music and to date has written over 500 songs. In December 2007, he started posting videos on YouTube; saturating the internet with his music and in 2009, he independently released his 1st project... "Alcoholharmony: The MixT@pe" By 2010, he had been discovered by artists such as YahZarah, The Foreign Exchange, Rickey Smiley and Neo-Soul Songstress Erykah Badu. As the self-proclaimed step-son of Erykah Badu, she reached out to Durand and invited him to be apart of her band “Neda Stella” after hearing his second project release: "8ight: The Stepson of Erykah Badu". During the summer of 2011, he had the pleasure of traveling with Badu and singing background for her European tour as her “2nd Soprano”. Durand is currently keeping himself busy by continuing to better his craft and sharpening what he aches to do for the rest of his life... Becoming a full time musician: sharing his unique music abilities and color personality with the world and to be a household name.
Isaia Huron’s roots begin in Greenville, South Carolina, where in his father’s church, he witnessed the power of music and learned how songwriting works. In 2018, he simultaneously worked on defining his own sound, honing his skills and growing in confidence as a singer, songwriter and producer. In 2020, Isaia released Libbie, a compilation compromised of early material, as well as a pair of singles, “Somehow I Knew,” and a cover of D Snake and Justin Bieber’s “Let Me Love You.” His string of releases continues in 2021 with two EPs, Bound and Cerulean Tapes, which consisted of the fan-favorite cover of “One in a Million.” Last year, Isaia dedicated his entire focus to reexamining his previous outputs as a practice to evolve his artistry. What derived from this reflective process was the newly released LIBBIE 02, which was recorded in less than a week at the tail end of 2022. Though Isaia is just making his mark as a rising star, he has earned early co-signs from the likes of 6lack, Justin Skye and Drake, who supported his single, “Teenage Fever,” the start of this year. Stay tuned for more news from Isaia Huron.
