As Greyhounds, guitarist Andrew Trube and keyboardist Anthony Farrell have been making music and touring for 15 years, refining and developing a sound Trube calls “Hall and Oates meet ZZ Top.” The band also has long ties to Memphis, home of the soul that inspires them. Ardent Music, the independent record label based out of legendary Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, expects to build on the fanbase the band has developed both on the road and as a staple of the Austin music scene. Label director Reed Turchi says, “We committed to three albums not only because we believe in these guys, not only because they’re great musicians and songwriters, but because they’ve been incredibly prolific.” “We’re always writing,” Trube says. “We’ve got songs for eight albums.” Ardent has had a long and productive relationship with Texas music: Studio C was designed for ZZ Top, which called Ardent Studios home for many years, and Stevie Ray and Jimmy Vaughan recorded Family Style in the famous brick building on Madison Avenue. The first ‘hounds out of the gate will be Accumulator, scheduled for an April 2014 release. The album will combine cream-of-the-crop tunes the band’s devoted followers pass along to the uninitiated with new, previously-unreleased tracks.

J. Isaiah Evans is a native of Dallas, Texas best known as the founder and front man of roots rock and roll band, The 40 Acre Mule. Following the critical and commercial success of The 40 Acre Mule’s Goodnight & Good Luck (State Fair Records, 2019), the band set out on an extensive touring schedule. Known for loud, high energy live shows, The 40 Acre Mule gained a devout following with fans all over the world. But there’s always room for something different. Enter J. A fan of organ driven bands such as Booker T. and the M.G.’s and the Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, he’s forged a new path with a band that puts keys front and center of Americana rock creating what he calls "Garageicana Rock-N-Roll". “It’s an opportunity to try new sounds on some old favorites as well as explore new music with artists that I’ve always wanted to work with. I want to take Americana and blues and soul and garage rock and make it into something unique. I’m excited for people to get to know this new project.”- J. Isaiah Evans With Spud Crowley on drums and Matthew Vasquez on keys, the trio debuted by opening for one of Texas’ favorite sons, Alejandro Escovedo, at a sold-out Kessler Theater. This was quickly followed by supporting slots for Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Silverada (formerly) Mike & the Moonpies, Messer Chups and Dave Alvin and The Third Mind with more tour dates on the horizon. The debut single, a rockin’ cover of Mel McDaniel’s “Stand Up”, is streaming on all platforms with a full-length album coming soon!
